Area Sales Manager – Lucy Electric Lead sales in Western Cape and Northern Cape, focusing on Utilities, Renewable IPPs, Consultants, Contractors, EPCs and Mining. Support tenders and quotes, promote and build the Lucy Electric brand, and provide technical and energy service support. Job Purpose To meet budget and sales targets within the LESA region, driving growth and market expansion for Lucy Electric products and services. Key Accountabilities Create and execute focused business plans for existing, emerging, and new markets in line with the 5‑year MTP and LESA management. Identify and develop new markets for Lucy products and services. Contribute to new product development and coordinate activity with marketing and engineering globally. Identify partnership opportunities, maximizing package/mini substation opportunities. Collaborate with sales teams in other regions for tender reviews with the Regional Sales Manager. Attend trade shows, events, and conferences to gain knowledge and network within the LESA territory. Serve on the Senior Management team of LESA and contribute to business direction. Develop, present, or respond to proposals for customer requirements, including RFP responses and industry‑specific solutions. Present technical information to clients and customers. Read, write, analyse, and interpret technical documents. Act as primary customer liaison internally and externally. Handle customer account queries, statements, remittances, and overdue follow‑ups with Finance. Monitor customer demand and provide internal feedback. Administer quotations and sales orders. Forecast sales and communicate production scheduling information. Ensure timely and accurate sales reporting to meet monthly deadlines. Maintain and update active customer contact list, and drive the ‘Customer Satisfaction Survey’ process. Support other departments as required, including year‑end audits and stock take. Grow existing accounts through superior customer service and up‑sales opportunities. Job Context Based in Cape Town (Hybrid). Visits to SADC region customers and business travel within LESA region may be required. Qualifications, Experience & Skills Diploma in Sales and/or Electrical Engineering or 20 years’ experience in the Electrical environment. 10–15 years’ experience in Technical and/or Electrical Sales, with at least 10 years on MV Switchgear and prior leadership/managerial role. Background liaising with utilities, specifying products/solutions with consulting engineers and EPC contractors. Self‑driven with strong business acumen. Advanced Microsoft Office skills; familiarity with CRM systems (Microsoft Dynamics preferred). Valid driver’s licence with PPD for vehicle operation. Own vehicle required. Valid passport.
