Role Overview The Finance Executive is responsible for providing strategic financial leadership, ensuring robust financial governance, and supporting sustainable business growth. This role oversees all financial activities including accounting, budgeting, financial reporting, compliance, and risk management while aligning with Group-level policies and objectives. The role acts as a key business partner to the Executive Team and collaborates closely with the Group CFO and Managing Director to support strategic decision-making. Key Responsibilities 1. Financial Strategy & Leadership Develop and execute the financial strategy in alignment with Group financial objectives. Provide strategic input to business planning, investment decisions, and long-term growth initiatives. Act as a key advisor to leadership on financial performance, risks, and opportunities. 2. Financial Planning, Budgeting & Forecasting Lead the preparation of annual budgets, medium-term plans, and rolling forecasts. Ensure accuracy, consistency, and timeliness of all financial planning processes. Monitor performance against targets and recommend corrective actions where necessary. 3. Financial Reporting & Consolidation Oversee timely and accurate daily, monthly, quarterly, and annual financial statements. Ensure submission of accurate results into Group financial reporting frameworks and templates, including Board review processes. Provide detailed variance analysis and insight-driven commentary to Group CFO and Managing Director. 4. Financial Controls, Compliance & Governance Implement and maintain strong internal controls in line with Group policies and regulatory requirements. Ensure compliance with all statutory, tax, and audit requirements. Liaise with internal and external auditors and ensure timely resolution of audit findings. 5. Risk Management Identify, assess, and manage financial risks related to operations. Develop and implement risk mitigation strategies, including liquidity and credit management. Ensure robust insurance coverage and asset protection practices. 6. Treasury & Cash Management Oversee working capital, cash flow forecasting, and liquidity management. Provide rigorous oversight of debtors cash collection processes to manage cash inflow risk. Manage banking relationships and payment process integrity. Ensure prudent investment and financing practices. 7. Operational & Commercial Support Partner with operational and commercial teams to drive profitability and cost efficiency. Provide financial modelling, business case analysis, and decision support for major projects. Champion data-driven decision-making and performance improvement initiatives. 8. Team Leadership & Development Lead, mentor, and develop the finance team. Promote a high-performance culture, continuous learning, and operational excellence. Ensure succession planning and capability building in the finance function. 9. Collaboration with Group Leadership Provide regular strategic and operational updates to Group CFO. Ensure alignment between financial operations and Group directives. Support Group-level initiatives, systems, and transformation projects. Qualifications & Experience Bachelors degree in Finance, Accounting, or related field Professional qualification (CA or equivalent) required Minimum 1015 years progressive finance experience, including at least 8 years in a senior leadership role Strong understanding of financial reporting standards, tax regulations, and corporate governance Proven ability to lead teams and influence cross-functional stakeholders Key Skills and Competencies Strategic thinking and business acumen Strong leadership and people management skills Excellent communication and stakeholder engagement abilities High integrity and commitment to governance Strong analytical, problem-solving, and decision-making skills Ability to operate in a dynamic, fast-paced environment Good planning and organising skills Advanced MS Excel skills Extensive knowledge of the Courier / Freight Industry Ability to communicate effectively at all levels Project Management capabilities Strategic Leadership capabilities Proven knowledge and experience of Budgeting and Forecasting processes Good taxation knowledge (income tax, PAYE, VAT) South African citizen with clear criminal record #J-18808-Ljbffr
