Widney Transport Components is a supplier of specialist commercial vehicle glass and sliding window solutions. The company supplies solutions to the bus and train industry and is the only local accredited sliding window supplier for Toyota, Daimler Chrysler, General Motors, Nissan and Ford. Main job purpose To take overall accountability for the sourcing, procurement, stock movement and control of all direct and indirect materials to efficiently and timeously support production and sales towards overall purchasing strategy at optimal costs and driving BBBEE compliance to meet business and customer requirements. Main Objective To support internal clients by adding value to bottom line (including cost and quality) through strategic sourcing, procurement and supplying direct and indirect materials on an ongoing basis to support production in order to meet their deadlines in line with set targets and customer expectations. To ensure that all procurement activities and documentation is monitored and managed to drive Widney contribution to overall Group BBBEE rating. To regularly review MRP system and sales orders for future planned production and manage the availability of stock for future production requirements to minimise unforeseen problems. To co‑ordinate and verify the procurement and invoicing process to ensure that suppliers and contractors are paid correctly and timeously. To liaise and build effective working relationships with key stakeholders including suppliers and contractors in order to improve services, quality and cost efficiency. To manage and monitor stock of consumables in order to meet plant requirements on an ongoing basis. To ensure effective communication of relevant information to all stakeholders to support decision making for the business.
