Drill and Blast Supervisor

Overview Drill and Blast Supervisor – Mining – Northern Cape Location : Northern Cape, South Africa Hire Resolve’s Client are currently seeking a dedicated and experienced Shift Supervisor for Drill and Blast operations at our mining site in the Northern Cape. The successful candidate will be responsible for leading a team of Drill and Blast Operators and ensuring that all drilling and blasting activities are carried out safely and efficiently. Key Responsibilities 1. Supervise and lead a team of Drill and Blast Operators to ensure safe and efficient drilling and blasting activities. 2. Coordinate daily drilling and blasting activities according to the production plan. 3. Ensure all safety protocols and procedures are followed at all times. 4. Monitor and control all blasting activities to minimize environmental impact and maintain compliance with regulations. 5. Maintain accurate records of drilling and blasting activities, including production data and equipment maintenance. 6. Conduct regular safety inspections and toolbox talks to promote a safe working environment. 7. Train and mentor new team members on drilling and blasting techniques and safety procedures. 8. Collaborate with other departments to optimize production and achieve production targets. Qualifications and Experience 1. Grade 12 and Minimum 5 years of experience in a similar role in the mining industry. 2. Valid Blasting Certificate for Opencast Mines. 3. Experience with various drilling and blasting techniques and equipment. 4. Strong leadership and communication skills. 5. Knowledge of mining regulations and safety standards. 6. Ability to work under pressure and meet tight deadlines. 7. Willingness to work rotational shifts and weekends.
