SAP Functional Support Analyst – Cape Town Use your knowledge of SAP Software and Information Technology to make sure a business is running efficiently and provide Technical support for applications on a day-to-day basis in the SAP landscape and the data processes connected to it, whether upstream or downstream in an Accounting environment. Responsibilities Support the smooth running of the SAP Software from a Technical functional perspective. Implementation of config and or “development” relating to the accounting business requirements of the Group and its clients or vendors in the SAP landscape. Support to business user community with regards to training and queries in the SAP landscape. Address business requirements, process issues, and potential enhancements in the business’ use of SAP. Implementation, maintenance, and support of all Data streams either flowing in or out of the SAP software and database. Participating in testing of solutions and providing assurance of process and Data integrity on all levels of the accounting process. Research possible enhancements to current accounting landscape. Keep up to date with related SAP technologies and best practice. (SAP Learning hub license provided by employer) Ensure SAP best practices from a functional perspective in the applicable environment. Development and maintenance of SAP BO Data Services applications to support the SAP landscape and business. Provide 24/7 standby support when required (based on a rotation basis). Requirements Qualifications Licensing or Certifications for SAP Functional Analyst Tertiary education in IT related field – Software development and data management. Experience Experience supporting and implementation of SAP systems. Experience as a software developer. Experience with Data mining, management, and reporting. Experience in a support role to accounting related processes. Knowledge / Skills Strong Analytical skills. Strong process analysis skills. Software Development – design, code programming skills and background in support of custom applications. BW, HANA, ABAP knowledge and exposure. Basic knowledge of Accounting and accounting processes. Knowledge of SAP software solutions and environments. Ability to work independently but also in a team and be resourceful. Strong communication and team working skills. Consultancy background preferred as this role also supports business and finance. Ability to manage and translate business needs and or issues into (proposed) solutions in the SAP landscape.
