Cape Town, South Africa CA Financial Appointments Full time

My client is seeking an experienced Financial Accountant to join the Finance & Operations team, responsible for managing accounting transactions and preparing management accounts for the group's largest entity. Reporting to the Financial Manager, this role involves interaction with various business units, including international locations. As the successful individual, you will have excellent organizational skills, attention to detail, the ability to multitask, and maintain high performance under pressure and within deadlines. You will have the ability to work independently, adapt to changing business requirements, and demonstrate initiative in identifying and implementing improvements. Strong problem-solving skills, analytical ability, accuracy, and the capacity to thrive in a fast-paced, high-energy, high-responsibility environment are essential.

Responsibilities :

  • Responsible for the financial management of the main entity in the group
  • Responsible for month end close - Including trial balance-, general ledger-level, as
    well as transactional processing
  • Responsible for VAT recons, Accounts Payable & Intercompany transactions
  • Maintain the Fixed Asset Register
  • Manage inventory
  • Assist the Financial Manager with ad hoc tasks
  • Prepare monthly Management Accounts
  • Ensure compliance with all taxation, statutory and other regulations with the
    Compliance Manager`s assistance
  • Support the annual budget preparation
  • Liaise with auditors when applicable
  • Responsible for the development of direct reports
  • Focus on continuous improvement - processes, month-end close, delivering results
  • Supports Finance Projects

Requirements:

  • B.Com or equivalent financial qualification
  • Minimum of 4 years of relevant working experience within finance/audit/advisory
  • Experience with preparing management accounts and financial statements
  • Proficiency in MS Office and MS Excel
  • Experience with Xero Project (advantageous)
