The Laboratory Technician will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in AHRI focusing on TB and HIV research. The candidate will report jointly to the Diagnostic Research Laboratory Supervisor and Clinical Trials Unit (CTU) Laboratory Supervisor based at the AHRI Somkhele campus. This position is primarily based at Somkhele campus, but the candidate may be required to work in Durban periodically. The incumbent will be required to perform various laboratory-based duties and functions for various research studies and clinical trials undertaken by AHRI. Responsibilities include issuing kits for various studies/trials, receiving and processing (including PBMC isolation) of various biological samples from different studies/trials preparing samples for short-term storage and long-term storage of specimens, assembly of specimen collection kits, testing and assist with general housekeeping and maintenance of the laboratory, equipment and instruments in accordance with health and safety and company policies and procedures and GCLP and ISO15189 requirements.**Overview of Duties:**The Laboratory Technician will work as part of a dynamic multidisciplinary team in AHRI focusing on TB and HIV research.
