Join FAW Trucks Southern Africa as a Repair Shop Assistant. Responsibilities Support the Workshop Technician in a constructive manner, ensuring that the internal department relationships are properly maintained. Personally manage work efficiently. Properly record all hours worked. Maintain all work bays, special tools and equipment in a clean and tidy condition. Record lubricants used on the job card. Record the use of consumable items. Perform other duties that may reasonably be required by Management. Build sound relationships with parts staff. Ensure tasks comply with FAW SA minimum standards. Participate in relevant training programmes. Share newly acquired knowledge with others. Engage in personal learning and self‑development. Maintain good working relationships with colleagues, peers, and apprentices. Support peers and learners, transfer concrete skills and promote a productive atmosphere. Set an example in time‑keeping. Capture creditors timeously. Take corrective action on out‑of‑line items. Adhere to budget guidelines. Follow all Health and Safety rules. Encourage colleagues to do the same. Adhere to company rules regarding the use of special tools and company assets. Keep your workplace neat and tidy at all times. Promote wellness and confidence in job analysis and understanding within the team. Always wear correct PPE per job. Obey road rules; traffic fines routed to offender. Provide complete support to reporting technician. Keep components worked on in proper assembly order and cleaned prior to assembly. Assist technician in maintaining high levels of good housekeeping. Promote a spirit of competitiveness within the technician group and teams. Check, maintain and report on out‑of‑line items such as OHS/SHE concerns outside company policy. Attend staff meetings regularly. Requirements Matric Certificate. Minimum 5 years in a similar role. Knowledge of commercial vehicle service and parts. Code 10-14 licence with PrDP.
