About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly specialized and innovative Senior Automotive Performance Engineer to join their advanced engineering team in Sandton . This role focuses on optimizing vehicle performance, developing new powertrain technologies, and enhancing driving dynamics. You will work on cutting-edge projects, utilizing state-of-the-art testing facilities and simulation tools to push the boundaries of automotive engineering. Key Responsibilities
- Design, develop, and test performance-oriented automotive components and systems.
- Conduct rigorous performance testing, data acquisition, and analysis for engines, transmissions, and chassis.
- Utilize advanced simulation tools (e.g., CFD, FEA) to predict and optimize performance characteristics.
- Collaborate with design and manufacturing teams to ensure performance goals are met from concept to production.
- Stay abreast of emerging technologies and trends in automotive performance engineering.
- Mentor junior engineers and contribute to a culture of technical excellence.
Requirements
- Master's or Ph.D. in Mechanical Engineering or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in automotive performance engineering .
- Proven expertise in powertrain development, chassis dynamics, and vehicle aerodynamics.
- Proficiency with simulation software (MATLAB/Simulink, GT-SUITE, ANSYS, etc.).
- Strong analytical skills and experience with data acquisition systems.
- Excellent project management and communication abilities.
