We are seeking an experienced and innovative Senior Developer with strong expertise in data engineering, infrastructure, and AI / ML solutions. The ideal candidate will play a key role in designing, developing, and maintaining robust systems that support ETL processes, data modelling, and advanced analytics. This role requires both hands-on technical skills and the ability to contribute to strategic decisions around architecture, scalability, and best practice. Job Type : Full-timePay : R Key Responsibilities Design, build, and optimise ETL pipelines to ensure efficient data extraction, transformation, and loading across multiple sources Develop and maintain clean, reliable data models; perform complex data manipulation to support business intelligence, reporting, and predictive analytics Manage and optimise infrastructure (cloud/on-premise), ensuring systems are secure, scalable, and cost-effective Build, train, and deploy machine learning models; collaborate with data scientists to productionise AI/ML solutions Contribute to the design and development of applications, APIs, and integration solutions Produce clear, comprehensive technical documentation and enforce coding standards, version control, and best practices Work closely with cross-functional teams, including data scientists, analysts, and product managers, to deliver end-to-end solutions Guide junior developers and contribute to knowledge sharing within the team Knowledge & Understanding Strong knowledge of ETL processes, data warehousing, and data integration frameworks Proficiency in data modelling techniques (relational, dimensional, and NoSQL) Solid understanding of infrastructure management (AWS, Azure, GCP, or equivalent) Experience in building and deploying AI/ML models into production environments Strong software engineering skills (e.g., Python, Java, SQL, Spark, or equivalent) Familiarity with containerisation and orchestration (Docker, Kubernetes) Knowledge of best practices in security, compliance, and performance optimisation Strong documentation skills with an appreciation for clarity and maintainability Skills & Attributes Excellent problem-solving and analytical thinking Strong communication and collaboration abilities Proactive, detail-oriented, and able to manage multiple priorities Commercial awareness with the ability to align technical work with business goals Job Details Experience: software development: 5 years ETL, data manipulation and modelling: 3 years Work Location: In person Ability to commute / relocate: Cape Town, Western Cape (City of Cape Town): Reliably commute or planning to relocate before starting work (Required) #J-18808-Ljbffr
