Introduction Syntell is a leading South African technology company with a proven track record in providing practical, innovative services and systems, including end-to-end traffic law enforcement services and systems; and state-of-the-art road traffic management systems offering complete turnkey solutions for intersection installations. In addition, we offer local authorities a complete outsource model for prepaid electricity vending and revenue enhancement services. We are currently recruiting for a Developer within our Road Safety division. The division is predominantly focussed on providing a turnkey solution relating to vehicle related enforcement services to our customers (ie issuing of traffic fines and everything that goes with that). We are the leading experts in our field and enjoy a dominant market share in industry we service. Within the division we have a large suite of internally developed IP that the entire business essentially revolves around. Some of the main systems include the following: Contravention Management system that manages the entire life cycle of traffic fines, Joint Information System – software that consumes ANPR input, interrogates various databases in real-time and provides alerts to the user, Law enforcement ticketing app that has digitised the traditional handwritten fines issued by traffic officers, Crash Management System – for capturing and reporting on accident stats, Average Speed Over Distance prosecution software. We also have our own e‑commerce platform (web and app-based) that allows the public to: Renew their vehicle License discs online and have them delivered to their door, View and pay outstanding traffic fines in real time, Buy prepaid utilities & pay municipal bills. Duties & Responsibilities Location: Remote Reporting Line Manager(s): Team Lead / Senior Software Developer Employment Type: Permanent Must have the ability to define and solve problems. Suggest technical solutions. Draw up technical specifications. Assist other developers as and when needed. Participate in code reviews. Ensure that sprint goals are achieved. Be responsible for investigating causes for not attaining these goals and give feedback to management. The successful candidate will be expected to visit the office and travel to attend client meetings from time to time. The candidate will ultimately be accountable for the planning, execution, delivery, maintenance, and support of a project through the entire project lifecycle within budget and on time. Desired Experience & Qualification Grade 12 is a MUST. Bachelor's degree in Computer Science / Information Technology or equivalent. At least 2 years full stack development experience. You must have extensive knowledge of the following languages / technologies: C#, MongoDB, Typescript, JavaScript, T‑SQL, GIT, Net Core, Angular, MVC Framework and SQL. Knowledge of any of the following would be advantageous: TFS, OAuth and Identity Server, Net Forms, WCF, Cordova, AngularJS, Windows Forms, Android and iOS mobile Development, AngularJS, Jasmine, Windows Services, Selenium or another testing framework.
