Purpose of the role We are looking for a dedicated Estate and Grounds Manager to oversee the maintenance and development of our property and grounds. This role is essential for ensuring a safe, attractive, and well-functioning environment for our community. Key Responsibilities Manage the maintenance and upkeep of the estate, including buildings, systems, and grounds. Develop and implement a preventative maintenance program to ensure optimal facility performance. Supervise and train groundskeeping and maintenance staff, ensuring high standards of work. Plan and oversee landscaping projects and seasonal maintenance tasks. Maintain budgets for both maintenance operations and landscaping activities. Coordinate with external contractors and service providers as needed. Ensure compliance with health and safety regulations across all operations. Collaborate with school/event staff to prepare facilities for events and activities. Requirements Proven experience in estate management, groundskeeping, or a related field. Strong leadership and team management skills. Excellent organisational and problem‑solving abilities. Knowledge of landscaping, maintenance practices, and safety regulations. Budget management experience is preferred. Ability to work flexible hours, including weekends or evenings as needed. Flexibility to respond to emergencies. Excellent administrative and computer skills is an advantage. A valid driver’s licence – manual. An ability to work harmoniously with pupils, parents, staff and the whole school community. A willingness to work within the framework and expectations set by the PEPPS Trust. An excellent command of the English language. Proficiency in Sepedi will be an advantage.
