KEY RESPONSIBILITY AREAS Continuously deliver a quality service to patients in accordance with patient safety standards Achieve the clinical quality standards according to policies and procedures Ensure the optimal utilisation and competence of staff whose behaviour reflects the organisation’s core values Ensure continuation of patient care through effective supervision Co‑ordinate resources efficiently to enhance safe patient care REQUIRED EDUCATION ESSENTIAL EDUCATION : B degree or diploma in nursing DESIRED EDUCATION : Relevant Management and leadership qualification REQUIRED EXPERIENCE ESSENTIAL MINIMUM EXPERIENCE : 5 yrs clinical experience as a Professional Nurse DESIRED EXPERIENCE : 2 to 3 yrs management experience at the unit level (SPN/UM) REQUIRED JOB SKILLS AND KNOWLEDGE People Management Risk management processes and procedures Infection prevention and control Knowledge of continuous improvement and quality assurance methodologies Nursing functional knowledge Human resource processes including employee relations Complaint management All applicants will be considered, with the understanding that preference will be given in accordance with the Employment Equity Plan of Mediclinic Southern Africa, as well as internal applicants/employees that meet the minimum requirements.
