Store Manager (External Applications Only) About the job Store Manager (External Applications Only) Description: Protect and grow profitable market share within a store in accordance with the store, division, and company strategy. Requirements Grade 12 with at least 3 years related retail management experience or 5 years related retail management experience Well developed business acumen Ability to work under pressure Basic computer literacy Strong leadership skills Strong administrative skills Own transport preferable with a valid driver’s licence Own cell phone Sound knowledge of Health and Safety aspects in line with local (OHSA) and/or neighboring countries’ legislation Strong human resources management skills Key Performance Areas Strategic Management Develop, implement and manage a strategic plan for the store ensuring alignment with the overall divisional strategy and strategic initiatives Grow and Protect Market Share Grow transactions, sales, and market share in store as defined in the budget Achieve sales budgets and growth objectives Manage and promote the customer loyalty programmes and third‑party credit Develop action plans to protect the markets where competitors are entering Ensure store business plans are implemented and updated when required Customer Service Implement and monitor the customer service strategy in the store Maintain an effective delivery service within the store as per company policy Grow and maintain customer’s VIC and charge card client base Recommend range improvements to suit the market Asset Control Control shrinkage within the store as per policy Protect assets (cash, stock and fixed) Manage debtors within the store Analyze security requirements and recommend changes in the store Ensure physical security measures are implemented and maintained Business Trade Licences (Countries) Ensure all relevant trade licences are up‑to‑date and renewed in a timely manner where applicable Human Resource Management Manage manpower requirements in line with the company and division strategy Ensure succession planning and career pathing in place within the store Maintain open communication and relations with the store employee forum and staff Ensure training and development is in place for the store Manage employee relations within the store Maintaining Store Standards Conduct daily floor walks Implement agreed action plans (PIP’s) where necessary Monitor adherence to company standard compliance Maintain housekeeping standards Adhere to merchandising policies and standards Ensure ready‑for‑business is implemented within the stores Maintain lighting, store and racking in good condition Stock Management Order and receive stock as per policy Clear damaged stock as per policy Implement obsolete/deranged stock action plans as per policy Manage slow‑moving stock as per policy Implement excess stock action plans as per policy Store Safety (OHSA) Standards Manage safety aspects in line with local OHSA and/or neighboring countries’ legislation Complete required checklists Appoint OHSA representatives for the store as required Investigate, report and manage OHSA incidents Expense Management Maintain the store in accordance with the financial model and benchmarks Keep expenses within budget for the store Insurance Claims Administration Report all incidents to the relevant insurer Liaise with insurer on claim particulars and validity Submit documentation to the insurer Management of CB Way Implement and maintain controls and disciplines as per the CB Way Leadership Enthusiastic, knows how to inspire others, connects people Takes the lead, inspires others, takes responsibility, gives employees autonomy, stimulates input, shows appreciation for good performance Result‑oriented: focused on achieving objectives, perseveres under adversity, makes concrete agreements on results, stays focused, seeks solutions when objectives threatened, delivers on time Planning: systematically organize activities, set priorities, ensure necessary means are available, order matters efficiently, make plan understandable, maintain realistic plan, set priorities Delegating: delegate work understandably, give sufficient space and responsibility, clarify results, indicate why asked, check progress Performing under pressure: maintain effective performance under pressure, deliver good results, persist, avoid mistakes, maintain even performance Market orientation: informed about market developments, actively seek market information, seek solutions from market perspective, monitor competitors, look for trend opportunities Integrity: comply with standards, keep promises, create realistic expectations, be sincere, handle sensitive information carefully, indicate boundaries crossed, show values awareness Accuracy: handle details consistently, work orderly, prevent mistakes, check work for errors Client focus: identify and respond to client needs, deal in friendly manner, involve in client problems, welcome clients, adopt can‑do mentality Personal development: aware of strengths and weaknesses, work on development, focus on broadening and knowledge, follow training, seek opportunities, ask for feedback #J-18808-Ljbffr
