Our client in Middelburg is looking for a highly organized and detail-oriented Logistics Planner to join their team. The ideal candidate will be responsible for coordinating and optimizing the supply chain operations to ensure efficient and timely delivery of goods. This role requires a deep understanding of logistics, supply chain management, and transportation. The Logistics Planner will work closely with various departments, including procurement, production, and sales, to develop and implement logistics strategies that meet the company's objectives. The successful candidate will have excellent problem-solving skills, the ability to work under pressure, and a strong commitment to customer satisfaction. Key responsibilities include planning and managing logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services. The Logistics Planner will also be responsible for liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers to ensure a smooth supply chain process. This role requires a proactive approach to identifying and resolving potential issues, as well as continuous improvement of logistics processes. The ideal candidate will have a background in logistics or supply chain management, strong analytical skills, and the ability to work collaboratively in a fast-paced environment. Responsibilities Plan and manage logistics, warehouse, transportation, and customer services. Coordinate and optimize the supply chain operations. Develop and implement logistics strategies. Liaise with suppliers, manufacturers, retailers, and consumers. Monitor and analyze logistics performance metrics. Identify and resolve potential logistics issues. Manage inventory levels and ensure timely delivery of goods. Collaborate with procurement, production, and sales departments. Prepare and present logistics reports to management. Negotiate contracts with logistics providers. Implement cost-saving measures in logistics operations. Maintain accurate records of logistics activities. Ensure customer satisfaction through efficient logistics processes. Conduct regular audits of logistics processes. Stay updated on industry trends and best practices. Develop and maintain relationships with key stakeholders. Coordinate with IT to implement logistics software solutions. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Logistics, Supply Chain Management, or related field will be beneficial. Proven experience as a Logistics Planner or similar role will be an advantage. Strong understanding of logistics and supply chain management. Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills. Ability to work under pressure and meet deadlines. Strong communication and interpersonal skills. Proficiency in logistics software and Microsoft Office Suite. Attention to detail and strong organizational skills. Ability to work collaboratively in a team environment. Ability to develop and implement logistics strategies. Strong negotiation skills. Commitment to continuous improvement. Ability to analyze logistics performance metrics. Experience in liaising with suppliers, manufacturers, and retailers. Ability to prepare and present reports to management. Proactive approach to identifying and resolving issues. Experience in conducting logistics audits. Knowledge of industry trends and best practices. Experience in the industry of 2 to 3 years will be an advance.
