AltGen is looking for a Project Manager to join a renewable energy company for a Solar PV and BESS project based in Limpopo. The role will be based in the Pretoria office, but will require travel to Limpopo as well. The role will also ensure that delivery is on time, safe and within budget. Additional responsibilities include ensuring compliance according to contracts, technical works and quality. Responsibilities Develop and maintain the detailed project execution plan, schedule (MS Project / Primavera), and resource allocation. Ensure all project activities are aligned with approved scope, cost, and quality parameters. Coordinate all design, procurement, construction, and commissioning activities. Maintain accurate progress tracking, forecasting, and performance measurement using Earned Value techniques. Act as the NEC Project Manager representative (if delegated) or internal lead executing all NEC processes. Manage early warnings, compensation events, and change notifications. Ensure timely, accurate correspondence with the Employer’s and Contractor’s representatives. Maintain meticulous records of instructions, communications, and contractual events. Support the Project Director in contractual negotiations, variation claims, and commercial resolutions. Implement the project risk register and maintain proactive mitigation strategies. Enforce adherence to SPS’s ESMS and OHS management plans across all sites. Coordinate QA/QC systems to ensure compliance with SANS/IEC and project technical standards. Escalate major risks or deviations promptly to the Project Director and SteerCo. Track cost performance and cash flow against approved budgets. Validate and process progress payments, subcontractor claims, and change orders. Prepare monthly financial forecasts and variance analyses for Project Director review. Support the PD in ensuring financial governance and audit readiness. Manage operational-level client interactions and ensure alignment on day‑to‑day project matters. Coordinate with EPC contractors, consultants, and local authorities for permits and inspections. Support PD with stakeholder communications, community relations, and issue resolution. Ensure site meetings, minutes, and follow‑ups are managed diligently and transparently. Prepare weekly and monthly progress reports, dashboards, and risk logs. Maintain up‑to‑date project documentation (drawings, submittals, quality dossiers, test records). Provide accurate inputs for PD’s SteerCo and Exco reporting. Ensure “lessons learned” and close‑out documentation are captured comprehensively.
