Duties & Responsibilities Conduct comprehensive assessments of residents’ physical, and psychosocial abilities. Develop individualised treatment plans focused on enhancing independence to improve quality of life. Implement therapeutic activities to improve mobility, coordination, and daily living skills. Collaborate with nursing staff, physiotherapists, social workers, and family members. Recommend and facilitate the use of adaptive equipment and environmental modifications. Monitor progress and adjust interventions as needed. Provide training and support to caregivers and staff on safe handling and therapeutic techniques. Maintain accurate and confidential documentation in line with regulatory standards. Participate in multi-disciplinary care planning meetings and contribute to case reviews. Promote resident engagement through individual and group therapy sessions and recreational activities. Desired Experience & Qualification Bachelor’s or Master’s Degree in Occupational Therapy from an accredited institution. Registration with the Health Professions Council of South Africa (HPCSA). Minimum 2–3 years of experience in geriatric care, rehabilitation, or frail care settings. Experience with dementia care, stroke rehabilitation, and chronic illness management is highly desirable. Knowledge of assistive devices, fall prevention strategies, and sensory stimulation techniques. Familiarity with electronic health records and care documentation systems.
