About the Role
Our client, a dynamic and growing manufacturing organization, is seeking an experienced Production Supervisor to join their team in Centurion, Gauteng . This hybrid role requires a motivated individual who can effectively balance on-site supervision with strategic remote planning and reporting. You will be responsible for overseeing daily production activities, ensuring that manufacturing targets are met efficiently and safely. This position involves leading a team of production staff, coordinating workflows, and implementing process improvements to enhance productivity and quality. The hybrid nature of this role allows for flexibility, combining the necessity of on-the-floor presence with the convenience of remote work for specific planning and administrative tasks. We are looking for a hands-on supervisor with strong leadership skills and a commitment to operational excellence within the Gauteng region. Your ability to inspire your team and manage resources effectively will be key to success in this role, contributing to the overall efficiency and output of our Centurion manufacturing facility.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the daily activities of production staff on the manufacturing floor.
- Ensure production targets are met on time and within quality standards.
- Train, mentor, and evaluate the performance of production team members.
- Maintain a safe working environment by enforcing safety regulations and promoting safe work practices.
- Monitor production processes, identify inefficiencies, and implement solutions for improvement.
- Manage the allocation of resources, including personnel, materials, and equipment.
- Conduct regular team meetings to communicate goals, performance updates, and safety information.
- Ensure adherence to production schedules and manage any deviations effectively.
- Collaborate with other departments, such as maintenance and logistics, to ensure smooth operations.
- Perform administrative tasks, including reporting, scheduling, and performance tracking, which may be done remotely.
Requirements
- Proven experience as a Production Supervisor or in a similar supervisory role within manufacturing.
- Strong understanding of manufacturing processes and quality control principles.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal skills.
- Ability to train and motivate a diverse team.
- Knowledge of health and safety regulations in a manufacturing environment.
- Familiarity with production scheduling and resource management.
- Proficiency in MS Office and experience with manufacturing software is a plus.
- Ability to work effectively in both an on-site and remote capacity as required by the hybrid model.
- Strong problem-solving and decision-making abilities.
- Reside within a reasonable commuting distance of Centurion, Gauteng .
