Senior Planner – Upstream Oil

Bachelors degree in Engineering, Construction Management, or related field required.
PMP (Project Management Professional) or PSP (Planning & Scheduling Professional) certification preferred.

Experience:
  • 10+ years of experience in project planning and scheduling in the Oil & Gas industry.
  • Strong experience in EPC, FEED, and construction planning for large capital projects.
  • Proven track record in offshore, onshore, and refinery projects.
  • Familiarity with regulatory compliance and permitting processes.

Technical Skills:
  • Proficiency in Primavera P6, Microsoft Project, and SAP.
  • Strong knowledge of schedule risk analysis tools (Acumen Fuse, Monte Carlo simulations, etc.).
  • Experience with Earned Value Management (EVM) and Key Performance Indicators (KPI) tracking.
  • Ability to interpret engineering drawings, P&IDs, and project execution plans.

Key Responsibilities

  1. Project Scheduling & Controls:
  • Develop, manage, and update detailed project schedules using Primavera P6 and other industry tools.
  • Perform critical path analysis (CPA) and ensure schedule alignment with project execution plans.
  • Identify potential schedule risks, conduct schedule risk analysis (SRA), and recommend mitigation strategies.
  • Track project progress, analyze deviations, and provide forecasting reports to senior management.
  • Coordinate schedule integration across engineering, procurement, and construction teams.

  1. Planning & Execution Support:
  • Work closely with Project Managers, Cost Engineers, and Procurement teams to ensure alignment between cost, schedule, and scope.
  • Assist in work breakdown structure (WBS) development and resource allocation planning.
  • Provide input for contractor performance assessments and construction planning.
  • Ensure all planning activities comply with industry regulations, company policies, and contractual requirements.

  1. Risk & Change Management:
  • Analyze project changes and assess their impact on the overall project schedule.
  • Identify and escalate schedule risks while proposing proactive solutions.
  • Support project claims and delay analysis, working closely with commercial teams.

  1. Stakeholder & Client Communication:
  • Present scheduling insights, progress reports, and risk assessments to senior leadership.
  • Lead planning meetings and ensure seamless coordination between project teams, subcontractors, and vendors.
  • Maintain clear communication between planning and commercial functions.
