About the Role

Our client is looking for a knowledgeable and dedicated Child Development Specialist to join their team in Soweto. This role focuses on assessing the developmental progress of children, identifying potential concerns, and developing tailored support plans. You will work closely with families and educators to ensure children receive the best possible foundation for growth. Key Responsibilities

  • Conduct comprehensive developmental assessments for children aged 0-6.
  • Identify and evaluate developmental delays or challenges in areas such as cognitive, social, emotional, and physical growth.
  • Develop individualized intervention strategies and support plans in collaboration with families and educators.
  • Provide guidance and resources to parents and caregivers on child development.
  • Monitor and document children's progress, adjusting support plans as needed.
  • Liaise with external specialists and services for referrals and coordinated care.

Requirements

  • A degree in Child Development, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field.
  • Proven experience in child assessment and intervention planning.
  • Strong understanding of child development milestones and various developmental theories.
  • Excellent analytical, observational, and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to communicate complex information clearly and empathetically to families.
  • Proficiency in relevant assessment tools and methodologies.
