AV Technician (x2) — Motionworx / NOVA Location: Pretoria, South Africa (On-site) Salary: R25,000 per month plus performance-based bonuses Start Date: January 2026 About Us Motionworx is a leading creative technology studio that merges cinematic storytelling, design, and real-time production to craft immersive virtual experiences for global brands. Our flagship platform, NOVA, is redefining virtual engagement - helping companies deliver visually powerful and highly engaging presentations and live virtual events. We are seeking two AV Technicians to join our Pretoria-based team full-time. These individuals will play a crucial role in delivering seamless, high-quality virtual events and managing the technical execution behind our most important client productions. The Role As an AV Technician, you will be responsible for running and supporting live virtual productions and recorded sessions for corporate clients. You’ll work closely with our creative and production teams to ensure that every event meets the highest technical and visual standards. This role suits someone who thrives in a fast-paced, detail-oriented environment, enjoys problem-solving, and takes pride in delivering flawless technical execution for high-profile clients. Key Responsibilities • Operate and monitor live virtual events using NOVA, Virtual Meeting Platforms (Zoom, Teams, etc.) and Unreal Engine. • Manage technical setup for each event, including video feeds, audio, and presentation integration. • Coordinate with presenters and a multi-disciplinary creative team to ensure smooth delivery. • Troubleshoot issues quickly during live sessions and maintain professional communication with clients. • Perform pre-event checks, system testing, and post-event quality assurance. • Assist in maintaining and operating studio equipment. • Support content playback, cueing, and event transitions during live or recorded sessions. Requirements • 3+ years of experience in high-end AV production, live events, or broadcast environments. • Strong understanding of audio, video, and streaming workflows. • Proficiency with virtual event platforms (Zoom, Microsoft Teams, OBS, or similar). • Working knowledge of production software such as Adobe Premiere Pro or After Effects is a plus. • Experience with Unreal Engine or real-time graphics systems advantageous but not required. • Familiarity with cloud infrastructure (AWS or Azure) is highly advantageous but not required. • Calm under pressure and able to think on your feet during live sessions. • Excellent communication and teamwork skills. • Willingness to work from our Pretoria studio and occasionally after hours for international events.
