Minimum requirements for the role : A bachelor degree or diploma in accounting or financial management is preferred for this role. Previous experience having worked within a financial accounting role is essential. The successful candidate must have a good understanding of South Africa tax. Previous experience having worked on Navision and sage is pref. The company is also happy to train the person on these accounting and payroll packages should they not have any experience. Previous experience having worked within in an import / export environment is preferred but not essential. Previous experience having worked for an international company is pref but not essential. The successful candidate must be a good team player, dedicated, flexible and have exceptional organizational and multi-tasking skills. Must have the ability to prioritize and to handle various duties as well as have a good problem-solving ability. The successful candidate will be responsible for : Handling the full finance and operations function overseeing and supporting the South African business entity for this international agricultural company. Processing all financial transactions from source documents to financial statement level, including year-end entries, as well as adjustments and payroll processing. Ensuring customer payments are received on time and supplier payments are made on time. Preparing annual financial statements. Translating annual financial statements to ZAR for income tax submission purposes. Preparing the annual audit file and submission of documents to the external auditors. Submitting statutory and other returns e.g. workmens compensation and the annual return. Processing bank entries and bank reconciliations for eleven international bank accounts. Processing of foreign purchase invoices. Processing bank entries and bank reconciliations for six international bank accounts. Processing overhead invoices. Processing and payment of group cargo inspection invoices and group cargo insurance invoices. Preparing annual budgets and cash flow forecasts. Hedging of certain imports as well as managing financial assets and investments. Preparing and analysing the monthly management accounts.
