Responsibilities Lead and develop the Senior Accountant team, including performance management, hiring, training, and workforce planning. Act as a key business partner to the Regional Head of Finance, supporting strategy, budgeting, forecasting, and growth plans. Serve as the subject matter expert on reporting, IFRS, controls, and standardised financial processes for the region. Oversee accurate month-end close, reporting packs, variance analysis, and delivery of insights, KPIs and job profitability (leveraging data tools like Power BI). Ensure compliance with internal control frameworks, support audits, and drive continuous process improvements. Manage statutory and tax activities including secondary tax returns, corporate tax accounting, and lease accounting (IFRS 16). Review and maintain balance sheet reconciliations, general journals, payroll postings, fixed asset registers, and expense allocations. Partner closely with AP teams to resolve vendor and intercompany reconciliations and ensure timely transaction processing. Support Shared Services transformation to enhance efficiency and scalability across finance operations. Ensure adherence to company policies, governance, and safety/security standards in the workplace. The Successful Applicant A successful Finance Manager UK/Europe should have: Degree in Accountancy. Relevant professional accountancy qualification (ACA/CA(SA)). Minimum 7 years' experience in a similar role. Experience of managing teams and an accounting function in a multi-site business. A sound knowledge of IFRS and the ability to apply theory to practice. Multi-country, multi-currency experience is important. Successful candidates will be well organised by nature with proven time management. High degree of initiative and self-sufficiency with the ability to prioritise and meet deadlines in a fastpaced working environment. Experience working with MS Packages (Word, Excel, MS Teams) and PowerBi. Strong Excel knowledge. Excellent interpersonal skills with the ability to communicate effectively with people at all levels of the organisation. Preferred: Experience in Freight Forwarding or similar business and its associated system such as TMFF or CargoWise Experience working within a shared services environment. Exposure to PowerBi and willingness to develop and share PowerBi skills. Experience with the SUN accounting system. Understanding of secondary tax compliance in US and UK.
