About Nova Pioneer Nova Pioneer is a pan‑African independent network of schools offering high‑quality, accessible education from pre‑primary through secondary school. We use an enquiry‑based learning approach that encourages students to ask “why” instead of telling them the “what”. About the Role We are looking for an exceptional Intermediate Phase (Grades 4‑7) Mathematics teacher to start in January. Resident teachers lead instruction and planning for subject‑or grade‑level classrooms and are responsible for driving a rigorous, enquiry‑based learning environment the Nova Pioneer way. Resident teachers are supported by Deans of Instruction who partner with them in their growth journey, observe lessons, provide feedback and coach. Residents also support and mentor apprentice teachers. Key Responsibilities Work closely with learning designers to design impactful lessons. Design and deliver engaging enquiry‑based lessons supported by technology. Observe, coach and model best practice for apprentice teachers. Infuse joy and passion for learning into lessons so students are excited. Set and communicate rigorous and ambitious goals for all students and provide feedback so they internalise it. Conduct ongoing assessment of student progress and use data to adjust instruction. Attend weekly feedback meetings with Deans and learning designers. Fully participate in professional growth opportunities including team meetings and reflective practices. Communicate regularly with parents through e‑mail, telephone and parent‑teacher conferences. Contribute to co‑curricular programming for at least one activity during a term and participate in collaborative teams and committees. Skills and Qualifications Completed Bachelor’s degree in Education (B.Ed) or Bachelor’s degree + Post Graduate Certificate in Education (PGCE) – Intermediate Phase. Qualified teacher with experience teaching Mathematics Grades 4‑7. SACE registered (provide registration number). Experience teaching Mathematics Intermediate Phase; familiarity with Cambridge curriculum objectives an advantage. Ability to lead a classroom independently; experience in a classroom (practicals included). Key Attributes To Succeed In The Role Love teaching and care deeply about student success.
