Responsible for the entire Organisation's Enterprise strategy framework implementation, analysis, design, and integration of an organization's complete information resources, including infrastructure, applications, and data. An enterprise architecture (EA) is a conceptual blueprint that defines the structure and operation of organizations.

JOB PURPOSE

The intent of enterprise architecture is to determine how an organization can effectively achieve its current and future objectives.

RESPONSIBILITIES Team Management
  1. Provide visionary leadership across the group, fostering a collaborative and innovative culture.
  2. Engage with various leaders such as Executives across business to find solutions and create better enterprise frameworks.
  3. Mentor and coach the solution architects, promoting professional growth and skill enhancement.
  4. Efficiently allocate team resources to optimize workflow and meet project deadlines.
  5. Conduct regular performance assessments, offering constructive feedback and implementing improvement plans as needed.
  6. Collaborate with HR to identify and attract top talent for the Solution architecture team.
  7. Lead the entire Enterprise architecture models within the business, ensuring a seamless integration of processes within the organization.
  8. Proactively address conflicts within the team, promoting a positive and collaborative work environment.
  9. Implement effective conflict resolution strategies to maintain a cohesive and motivated team.
  10. Facilitate regular knowledge-sharing sessions to ensure best practices are disseminated and adopted.
  11. Encourage a culture of continuous learning and improvement.
Strategy Formation and Implementation
  1. Collaborate with key stakeholders to develop, define, and refine the Enterprise and solution architect strategy aligned with overall business objectives.
  2. Stay abreast of industry trends and emerging technologies to inform the evolution of Enterprise architecture.
  3. Develop detailed implementation plans for Enterprise Architecture initiatives, considering timelines, resource requirements, and potential challenges.
  4. Ensure alignment of solution architecture initiatives with the organization's strategic goals.
  5. Establish metrics and KPIs to measure the effectiveness of solution architecture processes.
  6. Continuously assess and refine strategies based on performance data and industry developments.
Enterprise Application Portfolio
  1. Create a strategy model that works for the group's entire Enterprise architect through designing better infrastructure frameworks that enable business to compete with industry-related markets.
  2. Ensure that the application portfolio evolves at an appropriate rate and does not become unviable as other related architectures change.
  3. Provide reusable standards, guidelines, patterns, and frameworks to application development projects, including those related to application architecture.
  4. Optimize all aspects of the application solution architecture by working with subject matter experts (SMEs) in technology, information, and application architectures.
  5. Design application interfaces and software services to maximize reuse based on business processes and governance rules for sharing.
  6. Limit choices available during development by choosing a standard way of pursuing application development.
  7. Recognize potential reuse in the organization or in the application by understanding the broader system environment.
  8. Subdivide complex applications into smaller, more manageable pieces.
  9. Communicate component functions and interactions to developers.
  10. Review, develop, and maintain the organization's IT architecture.
  11. Evaluate the current state of the organization's architecture to identify duplications and measure the health of key business processes.
  12. Build the transition architecture to connect the current to the future state.
  13. Work with business stakeholders to develop Business Architecture Roadmaps containing tactical and strategic initiatives.
  14. Design solutions based on business requirements that align with Reference Architecture policies and standards.
  15. Provide expertise in designing solutions for custom requirements.
  16. Collaborate with stakeholders and conduct reviews of architecture roadmaps and designs.
  17. Engage relevant peers from other disciplines during implementation.
  18. Build a defined life cycle around reviewing the future state enterprise architecture.
Customer Centricity
  1. Coordinate contact with Business Partners as needed to assist with support activities.
  2. Establish and maintain a positive professional relationship with Business Partners and customers.
  3. Maintain regular and timely communications with Business Partners and customers.
  4. Drive customer centricity at all levels of the organization.
  5. Build a culture of integrity, respect, and understanding across the organization.
  6. Facilitate opportunities to engage and collaborate with external stakeholders.
Budgeting, Policies and Procedures Development
  1. Collaborate with finance executives to develop and manage the DevOps budget.
  2. Ensure efficient use of resources and adherence to financial guidelines.
  3. Develop and enforce DevOps policies and procedures to ensure consistency and compliance.

EDUCATION

Matric or equivalent experience required. TOGAF certification preferred.

EXPERIENCE
  1. 8+ years experience in an Enterprise Architect role.
  2. 10+ years experience in a Solution Architect role.
  3. Knowledge of relevant Information Technology governance and legislative frameworks (such as COBIT, ITIL, TOGAF, SDLC, ASAP, SOA).
  4. Strong knowledge of Microsoft Office productivity tools (Excel, Word, PowerPoint, Outlook).
  5. Atlassian and Jira knowledge (advantageous).
