Summary: A results-driven and creative Freelance Architect with strong technical and design expertise in the building and construction sector. Experienced in concept development, detailed design, project management, and site coordination. Delivers high-quality, sustainable, and cost-effective architectural solutions tailored to client needs while ensuring compliance with building regulations and industry standards. Key Responsibilities: Develop conceptual, schematic, and detailed architectural designs for residential, commercial, and industrial projects. Prepare architectural drawings, layouts, 3D visualizations, and construction documentation using AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, or related software. Conduct site visits, surveys, and inspections to ensure construction progress aligns with approved plans and specifications. Collaborate with engineers, contractors, quantity surveyors, and other professionals to ensure design integrity and project efficiency. Advise clients on materials, finishes, design feasibility, and cost-effective construction methods. Ensure all designs comply with local building codes, zoning regulations, and safety standards. Manage timelines, budgets, and deliverables for multiple freelance projects simultaneously. Coordinate tender documentation, drawings, and specifications for project bidding and contractor appointments. Provide technical input during project execution and resolve on-site architectural challenges. Incorporate sustainability, energy efficiency, and green design principles into architectural solutions. Core Competencies: Architectural Design & Drafting Construction Detailing & Documentation Building Regulations & SANS Standards Project and Site Management Client Liaison & Presentation AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, Adobe Suite Cost Estimation and Material Selection Sustainable & Functional Design Qualifications and Requirements: Bachelors Degree in Architecture (B.Arch) or equivalent. Proven experience (10+ years) in architectural design, drafting, and construction documentation. Proficiency in architectural software: AutoCAD, Revit, SketchUp, Lumion, Enscape, and Adobe Creative Suite. Knowledge of green building design principles and sustainable construction methods. Valid drivers license and own transport (for site visits). Excellent communication, problem-solving, and time management skills.
