Role Overview The Electrical Assistant tends to incidents reported via the Control and Helpdesk Administrator, is responsible for electrical maintenance and installations, fault finding and has to ensure that safety standards are adhered to and maintained. Key Responsibilities Attend to incidents reported via control & helpdesk administrator independently and as part of a team. Ensure daily checks are performed, faults repaired or outsourced, and electrical maintenance on buildings and related infrastructure is carried out. Fault finding at callouts, identify solutions, and submit weekly checklist and reports to supervisor. Maintain tool register in sub‑store. Comply with checklist procedures, report unsafe conditions and identify faults and solutions. Recognise unsafe electrical installations, read tenant meters, and work according to SABS. Assist with ad hoc projects from time to time. Educational and Knowledge Requirements Educational Requirement: Grade 10. Completed N1 & N2 Electrical Trade Theory. Knowledge Requirements: SABS and other relevant Safety Standards. Power & hand tools knowledge and usage – heavy current. Electrical Maintenance / Installations: Various lighting sources, cabling and wiring knowledge. Inspections on DB'S, Generators, UPS, Transformers, Motors etc. Fault finding and troubleshooting on electrical installations. Skills and Competencies Ability to work independently and as part of a team. Excellent interpersonal skill. Customer relations. Logical reasoning. Fault finding and problem‑solving. Initiative. Attention to detail. Time management. Essential Requirements Trade Test Theory (must have had this as a subject). Valid Driver's License (attached copy required).
