Position: Senior Project Leader & Business Development Engineer Location: Centurion (with extensive national travel) Employment Type: Full-time, On-site About the Role We are recruiting for a dynamic electrical engineer ready to operate at the intersection of engineering, project leadership, and commercial development. The role is ideal for someone who is technically sound, confident in leading major projects, and eager to grow towards strategic leadership in the electrical construction and infrastructure sector. Key Responsibilities Project Leadership & Delivery Lead and execute large electrical construction projects from design to handover Oversee budgets, timelines, quality standards, and compliance Provide technical leadership across electrical, civil, structural, and related disciplines Take operational ownership of newly awarded projects Conduct regular site travel, including remote locations, as required Technical & Engineering Responsibilities Apply advanced electrical engineering knowledge across project types Guide multi-disciplinary teams on cable routes, overhead lines, substations, renewables, and power systems Identify and mitigate technical risks Ensure correct application of codes, standards, and best practices Business Development & Commercial Support Identify new business opportunities in mining, renewables, construction, municipal and energy sectors Prepare tenders and technical bids in collaboration with commercial teams Support client discussions and technical scope definition Build strategic relationships and industry networks to position the business for growth Client Relationship Management Maintain professional, credible relationships with clients and partners Serve as the communication bridge between on-site leadership and senior executives Solve problems promptly and keep clients fully informed Represent the business professionally on-site and in meetings Leadership & Team Development Lead teams of supervisors, foremen, and engineers Delegate effectively while maintaining accountability Mentor junior and upcoming engineers Demonstrate leadership maturity with a long-term growth trajectory Qualifications & Experience B.Eng or B.Tech in Electrical Engineering Proven track record in delivering large-scale electrical projects Strong project planning, leadership, and technical problem-solving capabilities Experience in client engagement, tender preparation, and commercial thinking Able to function in fast-paced and high-complexity environments Valid driver’s licence Values & Working Style The ideal candidate is: Ambitious and eager to progress into senior leadership Technically strong with a commercial mindset Hands‑on and grounded in real‑world project execution Comfortable working with senior‑level site teams Resilient and able to manage multiple large‑scale priorities at once Ethical, reliable, and committed to professional excellence #J-18808-Ljbffr
