The role will be based in Cape Town and will report to the Private Label Technologist. To drive, protect and enhance the Clicks brand by taking responsibility for ensuring all products developed and sourced as part of the NPD development plan and subsequently sold in our stores have integrity and at a minimum meet the local and international quality, health and safety requirements whilst constantly striving to deliver increased profitability and grow market share. Manage Quality, Safety & Legislation Support the PL technologist within their development plans to ensure quality and safety compliance across all PL development by adhering to legislation and NPD approval processes. Assist the technologist with implementation of the CTSO into the business and the supplier base. Assist with product specifications and maintain the RAG process for each product. Ensure product specifications conform to the quality standards. Assist with writing quality protocols/SOPs for all categories. Update the CTSO with new quality processes and protocols. Support the technologist with Review and communicate TQM results to relevant stakeholders. Report and feedback on quality timeously. Ensure the China QA office is used for all export requirements. Assist with implementation of the DC release process. Support the technologist in preparation of ongoing sales, quality and corrective action reports. Assist with technical training for new product launches. Manage NPD & Costs Assist with bi-annual competitor quality review report. Support in the management of relevant technical information for product and packaging compliance. Support the technologist in adherence to the critical path. Assist with the export project framework/plan. Build good working relationships with suppliers. Understand the impact of low or no in-fills on categories and resolve quality issues. General Up-skill and mentor assistants via the PA and IDP process. Demonstrate the Clicks values in day-to-day activities. Assist the technologist in all administrative duties relating to RAG approval. The Ideal Candidate Basic knowledge of Cosmetic legislation and Personal Care product development. Ability to solve problems and create business opportunities. Work within a multi-functional team and effectively build relationships. Comfortable working with autonomy and understanding value chain impact. Ability to communicate and manage risks clearly. Skills: Time management Numerical skills Experience: Deciphering technical information Working with suppliers & importers Quality management in Beauty or Personal Care manufacturing Education: Grade 12 Graduate in Science/Quality with a minimum of 2 years’ experience in Product Development. #J-18808-Ljbffr
