Duties & Responsibilities POSITION OVERVIEWThe Industrial Relations Officer provides essential support in the management of industrial relations (IR) activities within the organisation. Reporting to the IR Practitioner, this role assists with ensuring compliance with labour legislation, coordinating communication between employees, trade unions, and management, and maintaining positive workplace relations. Key responsibilities include supporting dispute resolution processes, assisting with case preparation for external forums (such as the CCMA), maintaining accurate IR records, and providing administrative support for IR-related matters. Performance Statement To manage the day-to-day operations and administration of the Industrial Relations department and co-ordinate all IR activities in compliance with applicable labour legislation and organisational policies. Key Responsibilities Employee Relations & Dispute Resolution Labour Law Compliance & Advisory IR Administration & Reporting Projects & Audits \Client Liaison & Site Engagement Required Qualifications & Experience Bachelor's degree in Industrial Relations, Human Resources, Labour Law, or a related field preferred. 3-5 years of experience in Industrial Relations required. Technical Skills Strong understanding of labour legislation, negotiation, mediation, case management systems, and MS Office proficiency. Core Competencies Interpersonal skills, problem-solving abilities, emotional intelligence, and project management proficiency required.
