invites you to be part of our journey.****KEY WORK OUTPUT AND ACCOUNTABILITIES****CONSISTENCY OF CARE**Administration* This role involves leadership, team coordination, and a focus on the continuous improvement of services in alignment with healthcare standards and guidelines.* Coordination of the whole clinic team including, Personal Assistant, General Practitioners, midwives and Obstetrician and Gynaecologists.* Coordination of care within Scheme Benefits to ensure full reimbursement.* Identify high risks patients.* Coordination with other specialist parties, to ensure a holistic approach within medical Scheme Benefits.* Identifying new business possibilities.* Assistance with marketing, arranging of open days e.g. pregnancy week, breast care, visiting General practitioners with the Hospital General Manager.Research activities* Keep abreast of current research in the discipline.Quality assurance* Participate in the development and implementation of policies, protocols, and guidelines for safe and effective maternity care within the clinic.* Participation in the development of the clinic, and future roll out to other facilities.* Facilitate the training and development of newly appointed personnel education in the facility and other upcoming facilities.* Identify areas for improvement in the service delivery for patients and other stakeholders and contribute to quality assurance and continuous improvement projects.* Participate in the preparations and provide data for presentation for Morbidity and Mortality (M & M) meetings.* Complaint management – daily rounds with patient.Patient care* Compassionate and patient-centred approach.* Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to build relationships across all levels.* Ability to work under pressure and handle sensitive situations.* Commitment to continuous professional development and quality improvement.* Practice patient care according to the Scope of Practice and assume total responsibility for these activities.* Contribute to the holistic care of patients.* Effective communication with patients regarding their care.* Promote patient health and wellbeing.* Practice the principles of infection prevention and all Standard precautions.* Promote and maintains good public relations with patients, relatives and visitors.* Execute all procedures according to hospital standards.* Refer all complaints from patients and doctors to sister-in-charge of the unit.* Carry out all departmental duties as assigned by supervisors.* Provide and supervise the delivery of evidence-based nursing care.* Perform all duties specifically related to childbirth, including the delivery of babies, prenatal and antenatal service and the full spectrum of patient care form admission to discharge.* Ensure that all patients have an appropriate nursing care plan.* Communicate with Health Care Practitioners regarding any change in health status.* Administer and store medication in accordance with the Netcare policy.* Perform other duties as reasonably requested by the Line Manager or any other senior member of staff.Safety awareness and risk management* Effective risk prevention and management.* Maintain a therapeutic, clean and safe environment that is free from medico-legal hazards.* Adhere to the Netcare Resuscitation policy.* Adhere to Netcare medical waste management principles.* Maintain a safe working environment in accordance with the Machinery and Occupational Safety Act.* Report and act upon potential/actual risks identified.* Responsible for ensuring correct use, cleaning and storage of equipment.* Report equipment needing repair or replacement.* Always maintain professional conduct and standards in accordance with Netcare policies and procedures.* Always reach their full potential and maximize their contributions.* Develop collaborative relationships to help accomplish work goals.**SKILLS PROFILE****EDUCATION**Essential* A recognised Degree or Diploma in Midwifery with current Registration with SANC.* Management /Leadership Qualification an advantage.**WORK EXPERIENCE**Essential* Support the budget management process, ensuring that resources are used efficiently and effectively.* Monitor and control the ordering and use of equipment and supplies in the clinic.* Relevant experience in the nursing discipline.* Significant experience in midwifery practice, including leadership or coordination roles.* Capacity to implement and maintain standards of health practice required from all accredited bodies and appropriate health
