Grade 12/N4 in Mechanical Engineering Recognized Diesel Mechanic Trade Test certificate Engineering Foreman Certificate Diploma in Electrical / Mechanical Engineering (N6) advantageous / Alternative to Trade Test Certificate for PDSA EIT or Engineer in Training. Must be computer literate. At least 6 years' experience in mining of which a minimum 4 years' experience in Trackless Mobile Machinery (TMM) environment, (post qualification). At least 3 years' experience as a Trackless Mobile Machinery foreman. Must have own transport and have a valid drivers license. Good general health AND a certificate of fitness (Red Ticket) Duties and responsibilities: Perform inspections in accordance with the Mine Health and Safety Act regulations and ensure compliance. Will hold 2.9.2 appointment. The TMM Foreman is responsible for overseeing daily operations at a worksite to ensure the completion of projects in a safe and efficient manner. Coordinating daily tasks according to priorities and plans, making changes when necessary due to weather, supply, delivery, and personnel. Delegating individual responsibilities and projects to crew members and contractors Recruiting, hiring, training, managing and mentoring employees and contractors. Providing adequate resources and staffing to meet project schedules, laws, regulations, best practices, and safety needs. Emphasizing safe use of tools, machinery and equipment while providing training on safety gear, helmets, and procedures. Developing and managing project budgets and quality standards for all sites. Resolving conflicts or miscommunications quickly and amicably. Regularly reporting project status to supervisors, site engineers and other officials Characteristics or skills that is required Sound planning (time management), and organisational abilities. Ability to plan, organize and prioritize. Good customer and interpersonal skills Ability to function on your own and within a team.
