Market leading Interior Design and Project Management firm is searching for a Financial Accountant to head up their finance function. Their offices are based in Cape Town. The ideal candidate will have a minimum of 3 years’ accounting and finance experience, completed SAIPA, SAICA or CIMA articles, and have solid Xero system experience. Experience with Xero Projects will be highly advantageous, as well as system implementation experience, specifically with Xero accounting software. This is an excellent opportunity for someone with the required qualification and experience to join an established business that is expanding. Duties and Responsibilities Perform day to day bookkeeping, bank reconciliations. Compile management accounts and variance analysis. Compile and manage forecasting, budgeting, cash-flow planning. Manage Statutory reporting, i.e. VAT, PAYE, SDL, CIPC, etc. Manage Accounts Receivable and Accounts Payable functions. Financial control of various projects. Maintenance of fixed asset register and reconciling the assets to the general ledger. Ensure all financial expenses have the necessary supporting documentation. Responsible for implementing financial processes and controls. Prepare all paperwork for the external accountants. Assist, review and manage administrative personnel. Perform any other reasonable task required by the company. Qualifications and Experience Tertiary Degree, Diploma, Certificate in Accounting, Finance, or similar. Minimum 3 years’ accounting and finance experience. Completed SAIPA, CIMA or SAICA articles. Professional qualifications such as AGA(SA), PA(SA), etc. would be an advantage. Experience working on Xero and Xero Projects. Additional requirements Attention to detail. Deadline driven. Good communication and interpersonal skills. Eager to learn and be able to grasp new concepts quickly. Planning & prioritisation skills. Team player. Remuneration R420,000 to R480,000 per annum, depending on experience.
