About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Senior Procurement Specialist to join their established purchasing department in Bloemfontein . This role demands a strategic thinker with proven negotiation skills and a deep understanding of procurement processes, responsible for managing key supplier relationships and driving cost-saving initiatives. You will play a critical role in sourcing high-value goods and services, ensuring compliance with policies, and contributing to the overall efficiency of the supply chain. The position requires a proactive approach to identifying opportunities for improvement and fostering collaborative relationships with internal stakeholders in Bloemfontein .
Key Responsibilities
- Lead complex sourcing projects, including market analysis, supplier selection, and contract negotiation for strategic categories.
- Develop and implement procurement strategies to optimize spend and achieve departmental objectives.
- Manage and mentor junior members of the procurement team.
- Monitor supplier performance and implement strategies to enhance value and mitigate risks.
- Ensure compliance with all relevant procurement policies, procedures, and ethical standards.
- Collaborate with finance and operational departments to align procurement activities with business goals.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Supply Chain Management, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 5 years of progressive experience in procurement, with a strong emphasis on strategic sourcing and contract management.
- Demonstrated success in negotiating complex contracts and achieving significant cost savings.
- Expertise in procurement software and data analysis tools.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and stakeholder management skills.
- Proven ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously in a dynamic environment.
