Overview Calling all HPE Certified Engineers with strong Server and Storage background. What you will do: Working in a customer-facing capacity, the Senior Systems Engineer’s day to day tasks will vary, including problem analysis, monitoring of logs, backups, patch management, project management, systems design and implementation, as well as overseeing and participating in the support of existing systems. They will participate in regular maintenance, reporting on performance of server related services, act as an escalation point for client queries and support requests, providing ongoing proactive and reactive support. Responsibilities Engage in problem analysis, monitoring, backups, patch management, and systems design and implementation. Oversee and participate in the support of existing systems and provide escalation support for client queries and requests. Participate in regular maintenance and report on the performance of server related services. Provide proactive and reactive support to clients and act as a technical escalation point. Requirements Diploma / Bachelors in IT HP Professional Certifications are a key requirement: ideally HPE ASE (Storage), ATP or similar. Additional certifications from Microsoft, Cisco or other relevant vendors would be an added advantage (e.g., CCNA, MCSE, MCITP, MCSA, HP, VMWare, Veeam) In-depth experience with HPE Servers and Storage products including ProLiant, Alpha, Hyper Converged Infrastructure and Storage Works Proven track record of designing, implementing, documenting, and supporting on-prem Client / Server environments as well as cloud solutions such as Microsoft 365, Azure Cloud Computing, SQL Server, and SharePoint In-depth knowledge of, and experience in designing, implementing, and supporting enterprise backup solutions, high availability, and business continuity plans 6-7 years’ experience in the provision and support of core server infrastructure and associated services Technical Competencies: Directory Services Architecture planning and design, Networking concepts (DNS, DHCP, TCP/IP, Routing), Messaging Infrastructure, Desktop infrastructure management, Antivirus, Patch Management, VPN Technologies and concepts, Proxy Management, Virtualization Technologies, Disaster Recovery, Firewall technologies and principles, Computer and network security principles, Server Operating Systems, Service Level Management, ITIL Location: Johannesburg.
