Marketing & Communications Manager Sharing Stories by Shanz (SSBS) is a youth-focused registered non‑profit organisation dedicated to empowering the community through storytelling, mentorship, and personal development. We are looking for a passionate and creative Marketing & Communications Manager to join our team and help amplify the voices and stories of our youth across our communities. About the role As our Marketing & Communications Manager, you will lead SSBS's digital presence, manage our storytelling communications, and strengthen our brand across platforms. This role is perfect for someone with strong writing and social media skills and a heart for youth empowerment. Key Responsibilities Develop and implement SSBS's marketing & communications strategy Manage social media platforms and grow our digital footprint Create engaging content for MagNews, campaigns, and storytelling initiatives Produce graphics, posts, newsletters, and digital materials Share inspiring stories from our mentorship and youth empowerment programmes Support event promotion and awareness campaigns (e.g., GBV, youth leadership) Build relationships with partners, media, and community stakeholders Track analytics and prepare monthly / quarterly communication updates Marketing & Brand Development Develop and implement a marketing and communications strategy for SSBS Build and strengthen the SSBS brand across all platforms Ensure all content reflects the organisation's values, mission, and tone Social Media & Digital Presence Create and schedule engaging posts, stories, and youth-friendly content Monitor engagement and grow online reach Maintain updated information on the SSBS website or digital channels Content Creation & Storytelling Oversee and support content creation for MagNews, newsletters, and blog posts Capture the stories, achievements, and impact of SSBS programmes Create marketing materials (posters, graphics, videos, brochures) Support the storytelling programme by promoting calls for stories and showcasing youth voices Public Relations & Stakeholder Communication Draft and distribute press releases, announcements, and public statements Build relationships with community partners, schools, and media Ensure consistent communication with mentors, mentees, partners, and supporters Campaigns & Events Promote SSBS events, workshops, and mentorship activities Support event planning with communication materials Lead awareness campaigns (e.g., GBV awareness, youth empowerment) Internal Communications Keep the SSBS team updated on communication plans, campaigns, and opportunities Develop templates, guidelines, and communication standards for volunteers Monitoring & Reporting Track social media analytics, campaign performance, and audience growth Compile monthly / quarterly communication reports for the SSBS Director Evaluate and improve communication strategies based on data Skills required Strong writing, communications, and editing skills Strong social media presence Creativity and confidence in producing youth-friendly content Experience with social media management Ability to work independently and meet deadlines A passion for women empowerment, youth development, content creation, and storytelling Real-world experience in communications, marketing, and nonprofit work Portfolio development through published content and campaigns A Certificate of Service and leadership experience Application If you believe you are a perfect fit for this position, please send your CV and cover letter to (email protected) Closing date for applications: 31 December.
