Job Title: Instrumentation Superintendent - Mining Industry

Location: North West, South Africa

Overview:

Hire Resolve's client is seeking a highly skilled and experienced Instrumentation Superintendent to oversee all instrumentation-related activities within their mining operations in the North West region. The successful candidate will be responsible for managing a team of instrumentation technicians and ensuring the proper installation, maintenance, and repair of all instrumentation equipment to support efficient and safe mining operations.

Responsibilities:

  • Manage a team of instrumentation technicians, providing leadership, guidance, and support to ensure the efficient and effective performance of all instrumentation-related tasks.
  • Develop and implement preventive maintenance programmes for all instrumentation equipment, ensuring maximum uptime and minimal downtime.
  • Oversee the installation, calibration, and commissioning of new instrumentation equipment as required, working closely with engineering and operations teams.
  • Conduct regular inspections and audits of instrumentation systems, identifying and addressing any issues or discrepancies promptly.
  • Ensure compliance with all relevant safety, health, and environmental regulations, advocating for a culture of safety and continuous improvement within the team.
  • Develop and maintain strong relationships with equipment suppliers and contractors, negotiating contracts and managing vendor relationships effectively.
  • Provide training and development opportunities for instrumentation technicians, supporting their growth and advancement within the organization.
  • Monitor and report on key performance indicators related to instrumentation performance, recommending and implementing improvements as needed.
  • Conduct budget and cost control when relevant.
Requirements:
  • Grade 12
  • National Diploma (NQF 6)
  • Measurement, Control, and Instrumentation Trade Test Certificate
