Mr D, a division of takealot.com, is looking for a highly talented Senior Software Engineer (iOS) to join our team in Cape Town. Your Mission Take ownership and maintain our bleeding‑edge mobile e‑commerce iOS application. Migrate the existing Objective‑C app to Swift. Design, develop and test code in Objective‑C / Swift. Apply best practices ensuring stability and security of the applications. Monitor and profile application performance. Participate in daily stand‑ups, managing time and workload effectively. Collaborate with creative, content and engineering teams to design a world‑class iOS application. Publish applications to the Apple App Store. Key Skills Strong programming fundamentals. Experience architecting, developing, testing and maintaining iOS mobile applications. Experience with RESTful API networking in JSON. Full understanding of iOS view‑controller and table‑view life‑cycles. Best practices in SwiftUI implementation. Knowledge of iOS asynchronous processing techniques. Appreciation of iOS user‑experience design patterns. Experience with Git version control. Agile team environment experience. Creative, accountable, and inventive mindset. Worked with QA engineer on testing and product finalisation. Nice to Have Experience with Figma and Miro. Experience with Google Maps, Firebase & Braze. Any Android experience.
