Overview PURPOSE OF THE JOB: To ensure the effective utilisation of the ECB system on the shafts. identify centralised blasting related problems, communicate and solve identified problems with relevant stakeholders. MINIMUM QUALIFICATIONS AND REQUIREMENTS Grade 12 or NQF 4 equivalent 2 years mining experience COMPETENCIES Adheres to safety regulations and mine standards, procedures and practices and reports non-compliance. Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives. Performs regular inspections in area of work and report hazards to ensure environment is safety and hazard free and recommends remedial action where necessary. DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Inspects equipment and cabling. Ensures that all appropriate work specifications, procedures, and legal requirements are applied to the installation of equipment. Ensures that all legal requirements for the utilisation of the ECB system to enable blasting are met. Reports on substandard conditions as required by legal and procedural specifications. Sources equipment and material. Administers time and attendance records (shaft clearance). Prompts system users where upgrades are required. Integrates the performance of all activities towards maximum production and safety. Maintains quality outputs for each activity to support the continuance of the mining cycle. Implements initiatives aimed at eliminating waste, improving productivity and reducing operating costs within scope and assists with the implementation thereof to contribute to the achievement of operational objectives. Performs inspections of the entire centralised system, surface and underground. Records all inspections and findings. Interprets and applies direction with regards to specific inspections and recordings. Inspects equipment and cabling. Designs basic mechanical components.
