Field Testing Specialist Join to apply for the Field Testing Specialist role at Corteva Agriscience. We’re hiring for a Field Testing Specialist to serve as a team member in the Testing Team to conduct planning, planting, data collection and harvesting of research phenotyping activities for Maize, Soy and Sunflower across South Africa. Responsibilities Works as part of a team to plan and execute experiments/trials efficiently and accurately within seasonal deadlines. Ensures all phenotyping activities are executed at assigned trial locations; from cooperator sourcing, mapping, seed preparation, planting, crop maintenance, data collection (including UAVs) and harvesting. Will be expected to safely operate agricultural equipment. Maintains attention to detail and proper maintenance of research field equipment including tractors, planters, combine harvesters and other data collection tools. Stays current on new data collection technology and traits and implements the use thereof. Provides continuous reporting and consulting on program and trial status, with yearly reporting on status of targeted metrics. Participates in improvement of safety programs and protocols specific to direct work environment to identify and communicate potential risks and benefits. Completes personal development goals as part of a performance management and development plan. Qualifications Master’s degree or Bachelor’s degree in agriculture with 3 years industry related experience. Strong background in agronomy. Proven ability to make timely decisions, solve problems and build consensus. Excellent interpersonal/communication skills for fostering teamwork and developing strong working relationships with a diverse group of people. Ability to supervise and prioritize multiple tasks. Experience with operating research specific agricultural equipment and implements is beneficial. Experience with UAV/drone applications in agriculture and holding an RPC is beneficial. Experience in working with regulated trials and material is beneficial. Proficiency in Office software such as spreadsheets, mail, calendar and presentation software. Always complies with safety regulations and country laws, leading in a way which inspires all team members and follows the example. Can handle a demanding workload with long hours, travelling and weekend work during seasonal peaks. Can work outside in all kinds of weather.
