Adjunct Faculty - Philosophy of Gender, Race, and Class Apply Location: Worcester Department: Humanities & Arts - JM Division: Worcester Polytechnic Institute - WPI Job Description Summary The Humanities and Arts Department at Worcester Polytechnic Institute is seeking a part-time adjunct Philosophy faculty member to teach a section of “Philosophy 2716: Gender, Race, and Class” from October 20 to December 12, 2025, on Monday and Thursday afternoons. The course examines categories used to mark social identities such as gender, race, class, sexuality, ability, species, etc. Candidates should have a PhD (or ABD) in Philosophy, Women’s Studies, Gender Studies, Critical Race Theory, or related fields. Job Description WPI’s Philosophy and Religion faculty teach introductory courses, intermediate thematic surveys, and advanced seminars. The department has strengths in social justice and environmental philosophy; underrepresented philosophical and religious traditions including feminism, critical race theory, and non-Western worldviews; and studies of science, technology, and ethics. Successful candidates should demonstrate teaching excellence, versatility, and the ability to adapt to existing curricula with creative pedagogical approaches.
