Job Title: Graphic Designer
Employment Type: Permanent, On-site

QUALIFICATION AND EXPERIENCE:

Minimum Qualification:
  • Bachelors degree / Diploma in Graphic design or similar.
  • Presentation of an artistic portfolio.
Experience:
  • 5 years experience in print and digital design, preferably obtained in an agency.
  • Additional experience in DTP is an advantage.
  • Experience using Adobe CS; Office for Mac; Photoshop; InDesign; Illustrator.

CORE FUNCTIONS:

Deliverable 1: Delivered Graphic Design and Artwork
  • Collaborate with copywriters to receive and prioritise briefs and promotional requests from the business or appointed agency; and deliver each element of the campaign to brief.
  • Facilitate brainstorming sessions to share new design concepts, perspectives, and ideas.
  • Construct the conceptual design plan, concept, and layout for gaming and other marketing promotions, ensuring content remains fresh and exciting.
  • Propose or provide advice on artistic designs and solutions.
  • Design and create enticing graphics for deliverables using relevant systems and tools.
  • Be responsible for every visual aspect of each project from presentation to completion.
  • Liaise with team or agency with regard to concepts, ideas, deadlines, and promotional requirements.
  • Select audio, video, colours, animation, etc. for graphic design ensuring that all logos, photographs, icons, and brand imagery are 100% correct in colour, scale, and CI.
  • Brief, manage, craft, and monitor all visual elements of every project from presentation through to completion.
  • Brief electronic, print and activation production to ensure idea is executed and delivered to its best potential.
  • Brief and give constructive input during a shoot and/or recording and direct directors, photographers, stylists, and art directors.
  • Concisely brief photographers with lighting, style, composition, lensing, mood, performance, and grade references.
  • Work with editors, producers, and other designers to resolve technical and/or design issues.
  • Present graphics solutions to relevant stakeholders and obtain approvals on final content against brief.
  • Be an ideas bank of new innovation and concepts to be used as a foundation for content in line with business requirements.
  • Understand and adapt brand CI into all communication elements.
  • Conceptualise and complete art for 360-degree ideas: Activations, Promotions, Experiential, TV, Print, and CRM.
  • Craft and manage TV processes from edit approvals, grading, on-lines, titling, etc.

Deliverable 2: Graphic Design Administration
  • Research and analyse best design techniques and solutions to create graphics.
  • Maintain up-to-date knowledge about latest graphic design techniques.
  • Close out any requests by quality assuring content and products prior to distribution to the units / relevant stakeholders.
  • Maintain and follow best practices for versioning control, naming convention and organization of graphic files.

Deliverable 3: Stakeholder engagement
  • Work with relevant internal and external stakeholders to conceptualise and execute each element of a campaign.
  • Follow-through on progress with relevant "stakeholders to ensure timeous delivery in line with agreed SLA.
  • Maintain relationships with key stakeholders by promptly resolving queries, requests.
  • Manage relationships with suppliers and agencies through regular engagements to ensure quality service delivery.
  • Report and provide feedback to management on progress and challenges.
Key Stakeholders:
  • Internal: Company Staff/ Teams.
  • External: Freelance copywriters, content, and creative design agencies; photographers, stylists, make-up artists.
Scope and limits of the job:
  • Creates and designs artwork for promotions and marketing initiatives from conceptualisation to delivery for multiple properties across the Group.

  • Interact with clients and other functions and teams with regards resolving technical issues.

  • Think and apply business acumen and sound common sense in the implementation of multiple, at time substantially different procedures, standards, and precedents.
  • Interprets stakeholder issues and resolve directly or escalates to manager as required.
  • Takes initiative in making decisions which are made within well-defined, somewhat diversified procedures and limits of authority.
  • Considers all the facts, options, and possible outcomes prior to making decisions.
  • Works independently and is orientated towards solving client queries.
Accountability:
  • Takes ownership of client requests and requirements.
  • Follows laid-down policies and procedures at all times, operating in line with rules, regulations, system parameters and internal controls. Provides information and handovers with regards progress, results and service offered on the shift.
  • Interprets customer requirements in terms of services available and facilitates operational processes.
  • Refers problems falling outside parameters to the manager for resolution.
