Minimum requirements
- NQF level 8 in one to these qualifications (Physics, Chemistry, Mechanical Engineering, Chemical Engineering or Nuclear Engineering)
- Minimum of 3 years regulatory experience or relevant industry experience in operational or inspection
- Valid driver's licence
Knowledge of the following:
- Radiation Protection
- Nuclear Safety
- Waste Safety
- Transport Safety
- Environmental Protection
Duties and responsibilities
- Conduct inspections and monitor implementation of corrective actions
- Review routine compliance submissions and occurrence reports from authorisation holders
- Collects samples and review environmental monitoring report from laboratory
- Participate in Investigations
- Respond to incidents and accidents as reported at authorisation holder's facilities
- Issue enforcement instructions, as appropriate
- Monitor performance trends against safety indicators in assigned areas or facilities
- Prepare reports on work undertaken
