Position: Principal Structural Engineer – CPT / PTA Position Overview The Principal Structural Engineer will be the highest-ranking technical expert, responsible for driving innovation, strategic planning, and organizational leadership across the Structures Department. This role oversees critical projects, ensures technical excellence, and contributes to the long-term vision of the company. Key Responsibilities Strategic Leadership: Develop and implement engineering strategies that align with organizational objectives, drive innovation with cutting‑edge technologies, and improve efficiency and project outcomes. Technical Authority: Provide final approval on designs, methodologies, and project solutions, act as the technical advisor for the organization, clients and regulatory bodies, and establish best practices and safety protocols. Project Oversight: Oversee planning, design and execution of high‑value, complex projects, monitor project portfolios ensuring alignment with budgets, timelines and objectives, resolve escalated technical challenges and risks. Organizational Development: Mentor engineers, contribute to leadership training, foster collaboration and knowledge sharing, represent the organization at conferences, industry panels and client meetings. Qualifications & Experience Bachelor’s degree in Engineering (Master’s or PhD preferred). ECSA Professional Registration required. 15+ years of experience with demonstrated leadership in engineering roles. Recognized expertise in a specific discipline, with published work or industry contributions. Exceptional communication, leadership and strategic thinking abilities.
