About the Role
Our client is seeking a highly experienced and dedicated Compliance Manager to lead their compliance function in Bloemfontein . This senior role is responsible for developing, implementing, and overseeing the company's compliance programs, ensuring adherence to all relevant laws, regulations, and internal policies. You will play a critical part in fostering a culture of integrity and ethical conduct throughout the organization. This is an outstanding opportunity for a seasoned compliance professional to take charge of a vital function within a respected financial institution in the heart of the Free State province.
Key Responsibilities
- Develop, implement, and manage comprehensive compliance policies and procedures.
- Conduct regular compliance audits and risk assessments to identify potential areas of non-compliance.
- Monitor changes in relevant legislation and regulations, and update policies accordingly.
- Oversee the reporting of suspicious activities and manage investigations as needed.
- Provide compliance training and guidance to all levels of staff.
- Liaise with regulatory bodies and external auditors during inspections and reviews.
Requirements
- Bachelor's degree in Law, Finance, Business Administration, or a related field.
- Minimum of 7 years of progressive experience in compliance, legal, or audit roles, preferably in financial services.
- In-depth knowledge of South African financial regulations (e.g., FIC Act, POPIA, Companies Act).
- Proven experience in developing and implementing compliance frameworks.
- Strong analytical, investigative, and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and interpersonal abilities.
