Opportunity The position holder provides comprehensive technical support for the financial management of donor-funded grants. The Finance Officer is responsible for executing day-to-day financial operations for the sub-office, with a specialised focus on ECHO grant funded activities. This role ensures financial compliance, accurate record-keeping, timely reporting and effective utilisation of funds, supporting the overall mission of the organisation. Responsibilities Ensure compliance with internal policies and donor regulations while responsible for all payments, record keeping, reporting and compliance issues of the sub-office funds. Execute day-to-day financial operations for the sub-office with a specialised focus on ECHO grant funded activities. Ensure financial compliance, accurate record-keeping, timely reporting and effective utilisation of funds. Take timely actions, accurate budget coding and expenditure posting. Guide and support non-finance staff in any finance-related issues. Qualifications Bachelor’s Degree in Accounting and Finance, Accounting/Business management Minimum of 3 years practical experience in a similar organisation/INGO Strong knowledge of financial systems (SAP), policies and procedures, advanced Excel skills Knowledge and experience of donor grants of diverse institutional donors (ECHO) Excellent communication skills Proficient in financial reporting Fluency in English Safeguarding & GEI Understands and puts into practice the responsibilities under Safeguarding and GEI policies and Plan International’s Code of Conduct (CoC), ensuring that concerns are reported and managed per the appropriate procedures. Ensures that all staff in the unit/function/department are properly inducted on and understand their role in upholding Plan International’s safeguarding and GEI policies. Ensures that Plan International’s global policies for Safeguarding Children and Young People and Gender Equality and Inclusion are fully embedded in day-to-day work. Ensures that Plan Ethiopia contributes to Plan International’s global efforts to ensure safeguarding and GEI, including making sure that relevant reporting and data are submitted.
