About the Role
Our client is seeking an experienced Field Operations Supervisor to oversee their operational activities in the Upington area. This hands-on role is crucial for managing day-to-day field operations within the oil and gas sector, ensuring that activities are conducted safely, efficiently, and in accordance with company standards and regulatory requirements. You will lead a team of field technicians and operators, providing guidance and support to achieve production and operational targets. This position requires strong leadership skills and a comprehensive understanding of field operations.
Key Responsibilities
- Supervise and coordinate the activities of field operations personnel, including technicians, operators, and maintenance crews.
- Ensure adherence to all safety, health, and environmental regulations and company policies.
- Monitor operational performance, identify areas for improvement, and implement corrective actions.
- Manage resources, including equipment, materials, and personnel, to ensure efficient execution of tasks.
- Oversee routine maintenance and troubleshooting of field equipment and facilities.
- Provide training and mentorship to team members, fostering a culture of safety and continuous improvement.
Requirements
- High school diploma or equivalent; technical certification or degree in a related field is a plus.
- Minimum of 7 years of experience in field operations, preferably within the oil and gas industry.
- Proven experience in supervising teams and managing operational activities.
- Strong understanding of oil and gas field equipment, processes, and safety procedures.
- Excellent leadership, communication, and problem-solving skills.
- Ability to work effectively in challenging field conditions and a flexible work schedule.
