About the Role
Our client is seeking an eager and organized Junior Flight Dispatcher to join their operations team in Mossel Bay . In this hybrid role, you will support senior flight dispatchers in planning and monitoring flight operations, ensuring safety, efficiency, and compliance with all aviation regulations. You will be involved in flight plan preparation, weather analysis, fuel calculations, and communication with flight crews and air traffic control. This position offers a fantastic opportunity for individuals looking to enter the critical field of flight operations and gain valuable experience in a dynamic environment.
Key Responsibilities
- Assist in the creation and dissemination of flight plans, including route, altitude, and timing details.
- Monitor flight progress, weather conditions, and NOTAMs (Notices to Airmen) throughout the flight.
- Calculate fuel requirements and ensure aircraft are adequately provisioned.
- Communicate effectively with pilots, air traffic control, and other operational personnel.
- Maintain accurate flight logs and operational records.
- Support the flight dispatch team in managing irregular operations, diversions, and emergencies.
Requirements
- Relevant qualification or training in aviation operations or flight dispatch.
- Basic understanding of aviation regulations, meteorology, and navigation principles.
- Strong analytical and problem-solving skills.
- Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities.
- Proficiency in using flight planning software and standard office applications.
