About the Role
Our client, a leading advocacy organization dedicated to policy change in Randburg , is seeking an experienced and strategic Communications Manager. This role is crucial for shaping and disseminating our message to key stakeholders, the public, and policymakers. Working in a fully remote capacity, you will develop and execute comprehensive communication strategies that amplify our advocacy efforts, build public awareness, and drive engagement. This position requires a creative thinker with a strong understanding of media relations, digital communications, and public relations.
Key Responsibilities
Develop and implement integrated communication plans to support advocacy goals. Create compelling content for various platforms, including press releases, social media, website copy, newsletters, and reports. Manage media relations, respond to inquiries, and build relationships with journalists and influencers. Oversee the organization's social media presence and engagement strategies. Monitor media coverage and public discourse related to our advocacy areas. Collaborate with program staff to ensure consistent and effective messaging across all communications. Requirements Bachelor's degree in Communications, Public Relations, Journalism, or a related field. Minimum of 5 years of experience in communications, public relations, or marketing, preferably in advocacy or non-profit sectors. Excellent written and verbal communication skills, with a proven ability to craft persuasive narratives. Demonstrated experience in media relations and digital communications strategy. Proficiency in social media management tools and analytics. Ability to work independently and proactively in a remote setting, managing multiple projects and deadlines effectively.
