QA/ Millwright

ABOUT THIS POSITION
We are looking for a competent Millwright to accurately perform QA duties and advice on high, medium and low voltage electricity transmission & distribution equipment and systems (focusing on Substations, Transformers and Switchgears) as well as other functions as stipulated below.

RESPONSIBILITIES
- Final quality inspections of manufactured products
- Testing and pre-commissioning of equipment
- Conduct daily fault-finding
- Wiring and building of panels.
- Welding
- Understand specifications of the task at hand and the desired result by reading blueprints, electrical and mechanical drawings etc.
- Working on breakdowns
- Installations of industrial machines
- Monitor machines and equipment for preventative maintenance
- Mechanical / Electrical repair of machines.
- Cleaning, lubricating, and maintaining equipment.
- Fault detection, dismantling, and manufacturing of parts
- Give in-house technical & mechanical training
- Building maintenance

REQUIREMENTS AND SKILLS
- Red Seal Millwright qualified
- Read and understand mechanical and electrical drawings.
- Keep effective QA, Testing and maintenance records
- A keen eye for detail and results-driven approach
- Ability to read and interpret mechanical documents and drawings
- Mechanical and electrical aptitude and good math skills
- Good communication abilities
- Reliable and organisational skills
- Strong work ethic
- Computer literate
- Must work in full compliance with the approved safety regulations
- Must have own transport

WORK EXPERIENCE
- Min 5 years experience after qualification
- AC and DC Equipment (Traction DC and AC substations) and (LT and HT) experience
- Must be able to work in a high-pressure environment
